Protect bots · service.tcl

Your channel, safe from takeovers. Within a second.

An EpicBots bot watches your channel day and night. It stops a takeover without waiting for its queue, gives op back to your people and leaves the channel as it was. And it brings everything you need to run it.

#features

Everything it does for your channel

Every Protect bot runs service.tcl, the EpicBots protection engine, and is linked to the hub, which sees the whole network at once.

Stops takeovers instantly

Kick-ban, Q RECOVER, lockdown and re-op in the same second, without waiting for the message queue. 90 seconds later it restores the channel.

Flood and spam protection

Lines, joins, nick changes and CTCP. The spamscan scores colours, capitals, repeats and advertising: it warns, kicks and bans.

Clones and drones

Bans hosts with too many connections. The hub watches every channel at once and bans drones on all of them.

Full control of modes

enforcemodes, bitchmode, a known-users-only channel and a temporary lockdown with one command.

Filters your way

Forbidden words, forbidden channels, advertising, flyby and bans by Q account.

Built for Q

Secure login with CHALLENGEAUTH, a check of its chanlev, Q bans, RECOVER and your channel's settings in Q.

A backup every hour

Topic, modes, bans, users, settings and Q chanlev. If your bot changes, the new one restores everything.

Topic, welcome and notices

Topic templates, a welcome message, automatic messages, autolimit and the user record.

Always online

It restarts by itself, logs in to Q again after a server change and reports to the hub every 5 minutes. You can also ask for a second bot as a pair.

#takeover

What happens during a takeover

The bot doesn't wait for its message queue: defence orders go straight to the server, and long notices stay quiet until the attack is over.

constant checks

A bot never stays on an abandoned channel

Every 10 minutes the bot checks your channel. If something stops being true, it warns on the channel and the owner by notice, and only leaves when the time is up.

    #rules

    Rules of use

EpicBots is free and stays that way if it is used well. Asking for a bot means accepting these rules.

    • One bot per type and accountEvery Q account may have one bot of each type and two in total. A pair bot counts apart and the staff approves it.
    • Active channelsThe channel has to keep the minimum users. An empty or abandoned channel loses its bot when the time is up.
    • No abuseThe bot is not used to attack, flood or annoy other channels or users. Doing so means losing the bot and joining the blacklist.
    • No drone channelsChannels of bots, drones or illegal activities get no bot, and the ones they have are removed or suspended.
    • Q access staysThe bot needs its access in your chanlev. If you take it away, it warns you and leaves after an hour.
    • The staff decidesThe staff may deny, remove, suspend or move a bot when needed. Questions go to #EpicBots.

    Ready to protect it?

One command in #EpicBots and your channel has a guardian within a minute.
